The food industry Milia, based in the province of Nuoro Bortigali, has addressed both problems in an active manner by installing a CHP biomass plant ; the fattening center constantly houses about 1,000 calfs through the slaughterhouse and adjoining activity slaughter lambs 120.000, 8000 adult sheeps, 3500 cattles, 5000 pigs, each year.

Wastes generated from these activities produce waste considered special which to be eliminated cost yearly about Euro 60.000; to let this activity work are spent almost ? 120.000 for the purchase of electricity. Milia choose Velo Group to get digester biomass and Spark Energy for the realization of cogeneration: the installation of biomass energy produced and green certificates, allowed the company to eliminate business wastes investments from business costs as well as the purchase of electricity.

The CHPB 120M plant was connected at low voltage using the existing connection, the produced energy will be used by the company with the formula of the exchange on site, reducing business consumptions of electricity and producing 1400 green certificates yearly, which in the company balance sheet will be add to costs saving for the disposal of special wastes, an investment that makes the company even stronger and more competitive on the market.

The scheduled maintenance planned by technical staff, can prevent most of the malfunctions; the plant is also equipped with a remote control system that allows the continuous monitoring of its operational characteristic data, in case of malfunction the system reports the problem in the maintenance of the customer and also at the operations center of Spark Energy via email and sms, allowing immediate actions.

Most operations can be performed remotely from the operations center and, if necessary, engineerings are involved in a few hours to restore and solve the problem with proper operation.

Energy has precious value, it is not because of the cost issue but also to protect the environment. The product line MicroSpark can meet the energy needs of medium users: houses, group of buildings, residences, hotels, swimming pools, gyms, small business company, etc? It is a concrete example the renovation of an old monastery close to Varese: the building is now hosting a residence with 2 conference rooms, 14 rooms, restaurant, a small wellness environment, with a swimming pool.

The customer initial request was to install a photovoltaic system and a micro-cogenerator, but the special context of the structure and which is subject to environmental, excluded the use of photovoltaic technology; anyway, the project includes construction,two machines from 10kWe MicroSpark 10G each, and one accumulation unit of absorption.

The simultaneous use of two machines do its best in using features of the system even when the location is less busy;
the solution that includes the absorber satisfies the need to condition the two conference rooms, which due to their position are quite humid. About half of the 14 rooms that make the structure face the inner courtyard where is placed the equipment room, the extremely low noise level of the machines allows to be in use mostly during the night without causing any problems to the guests.

With tri-generation plant, the location is totally energy independent and fulfilling completely the needs without affecting on environment consumptions.
